NEWS - New Friends Group (See membership page)
Allen Centennial Gardens' fund raising is handled through the U.W. Foundation. ACG has just formed a "Friends" group assist fund raising and that develop methods of fund raising not currently used by the Foundation and promote the Gardens. The Steering and Organizational Committee is forming several additional committees that will develop and work on projects. We are looking for people with experience in these categories who would enjoy volunteering their time and experience to this self-supported botanic treasure. Here are the committees formed to date:
Events: Planning fund raising events such as parties in the Gardens, plant auctions, bus trips, educational forums, etc.
Public Relations/Marketing: This committee will start by developing a membership program for the Gardens. It will work to find ways to advance marketing and public relations for the Gardens.
Grant Committee: This committee will research grants appropriate for projects and funding in the Gardens and write and submit them.
